The Latest News...
The OCC's second successive cup final defeat, this time in the Birtwhistle Cup completed a miserable fortnight for the Club. Set just 159 to win, the second team collapsed from 100/2 to be all out for 144 with 11 overs still to be bowled.
Despite the defeat, the match will be remembered for two superb performances from Otley's juniors. John Brough bowled his 9 overs for just 9 runs in the middle of the Kirkstall innings also collecting a wicket. Josh Atkinson stroked a majestic half century to set up the platform for victory that was not built upon, his efforts deservedly won him the man of the match award.
Both first and second team matches on Saturday were washed out, however on Sunday the third team recorded their second win in two weeks. In a match reduced to 25 overs, they comfortably chased down Knaresborough's modest target.
This weekend both the first and second team's play Guiseley, the first team are at home. The thirds play North Leeds on Sunday.
